Leg Cramps - OUCH!

Leg Cramps - After years of horrible night leg cramps, I found a way to get rid of them fast. Even though the pain is so intense, take your other foot and push on the heel of the cramping leg to force it straight.  When you release it, you will find the pain gone.  Also, when you can, do a leg stretch by putting the cramping leg behind you and press the heel down.  It will hurt, but the pressure will stretch the cramped muscle free.

Christmas 2014

Not a wrong date!  Fast forward to next year's Christmas shopping. If this year causes you to ruin January and February, you might need a different plan for next year.  Add up your spending this Christmas, add taxes if you own your home, and add the things that you would like to do next year.  The figure might be a little staggering, but there is an answer.  Take the total amount and divide by 12.  That is the amount each month you need to sock away in a savings account (not invest).  It's like eating an elephant - one bite at a time.  You'll be glad you did next December.

AAHHHH! FRESH HERBS

Have you ever bought fresh herbs because you needed a small amount then have them go bad before you can use them all?  My solution:  Wash the herb and get it as dry as possible.  Chop finely, use what you need and put the rest in a freezer baggie.  LABEL IT for another day.  (I use them all the time.  Right now, in my refrigerator freezer, I have cilantro, parsley, basil, also chopped onion, celery, green pepper, and red pepper.  You can take advantage of sales.  Labeling is most important because when they are frozen, some of them look alike.)

Stock market purchases and sales

Remember that different kinds of investments are sold differently. Know the way each kind work:  stock, reits, bonds, etc.  If you are selling a investment and it earns a fixed dividend, you might not want to sell it when the price goes down.  If you treat them all the same, you will not see the gains that might be available.

Too Gooey!!

I can't stand greasy dishwater.  I have found an easy way to avoid putting "stuff" in your dishwater.  I buy the cheapest tissues to use in the kitchen.  I wipe out greasy pans because I don't want the grease in the dishwater nor down the disposal.  I want to keep the hot soapy water to remain that way until the last dish is washed.  If not, it doesn't bother me to drain it out and start over.  "Floaties" just won't work at my house ... yuk!!!

I can't find my car!

We've all done it!  We're so busy thinking about what we will buy that we don't remember where we parked the car. My sister and I looked for one hour in a mall parking lot because that store was on a hill and had two levels and we entered on one and exited on the other.  We had to find the parking attendant who sorted out our problem.

My solution now:  When I get out of the car, I look at the building I'm going into and take note that the car is lined up with the H in Harry's , or the third tree, or the red trash barrel.  Upon coming out, I just locate the H, or whatever, and look straight out.  I've saved myself a lot of time.
Last resort:  Use the panic button on your remote.  I hadn't used it before as I couldn't turn it off.  SIMPLE:  Just press the panic button again.
