Proverbs 24:3-4

By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures. Proverbs 24:3-4

Keeping track is ABSOLUTELY essential

Bookkeeping! UGH!!!  However, you must know where your money is and where it is going.  Being casual about your finances is the road to ruin.  The scripture that changed my life about finances was
Proverbs 27:23-27:
Be diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.  For riches are not forever; and doth the crown endure to every generation?  The hay appeareth, and the tender grass showeth itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered.  The lambs are for thy clothing, and the goats are the price of the field.  And thou shall have goats' milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens."

I realized that I didn't live on a farm, so I would have to substitute other words to my situation.  We have covered a lot of ground since, but I really do wish that I had know this information at a much earlier age.  Too soon old - too late smart!

Fresh Salsa

Sometimes I have more recipes to share than financial information, but that's the way life is.  You never do the same thing very long.

Fresh (Mexican) Salsa

(I use a small mini chopper and it works well.  I have spent the time hand chopping everything small and it taste the same - but takes longer, sigh!)

4 Roma tomatoes (cut in pieces for the chopper)
1/2 tsp. minced garlic
Juice of 1 lime
1/4 c. chopped green or white onion
1/4 - 1/2 c. fresh cilantro
1 T. sliced jalapeno (jar)  use fresh if you like.
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper

Chop to coarse consistency and adjust the salt and pepper to your taste.  Since the ingredients are fresh and salt causes it to be soupy, I put it in a strainer to drain off the juice.  The juice is awesome -  like fresh V-8.

Hope you enjoy.  Es Westmoreland  Call if you have questions  713-898-0779

Fruit Salad dressing with OJ

Several years ago, I ate fresh fruit salad regularly at the office cafeteria because it was the best tasting I had ever had.  I finally asked the cook what it was and was astounded at her reply.  "Choose whatever fresh fruit you like and cut it up for salad.  Mix equal amounts of frozen orange juice concentrate with sugar."  (Of course you use more for big salad, less for small salad.)  The citric acid keeps all the fruit from turning and the flavor is wonderful.  Such an easy way to serve fantastic fruit salad or serve as dessert.  WOW!

Sometimes the truth is hidden

Several years ago, I had something wrong with me (don't even remember what it was) and prayed for healing. It didn't happen and I was really seeking the Lord about it because His Word says that He heals us when we pray. I asked Him what was going on? I had prayed and I believed His Word and I didn't understand why it hadn't manifested. He spoke to me: "Think about a Christmas tree, He said. It's so fresh, so green and so DEAD! It shocked me. He continued, "The evil energy source has been severed and although it is not apparent immediately, just wait until the sap has gone out to the branches as it will dry up and you will see that it is dead." He continued: "Many people pray for healing and when they do not see immediate results, reconnect the sickness to the evil energy source and it looks as though they were not healed."

God is our Healer

After two Dr appointments that my heartbeats were not recovering as they should, asked Pastor Hilley to anoint me with oil and pray for me. Today I saw the Dr and it was fine. God has so many ways for us to be healed because He wants us healed. After doing a search about some of the ways God heals us, I came up with 19. A few are: speak the Word only; the laying on of hands; the prayer of faith; anointing with oil, submitting yourself to God and resisting the devil; the prayer of agreement... God is our Healer if we will let Him be. He rarely heals us the same way twice.

Yes you need Term Insurance

Charlie Brown and Lucy are on the right track - although the cost is a little higher.  YOU NEED TERM INSURANCE if you are married or married with children.  No one thinks they might not be around to raise their children, but there are statistics out there that tell us that it is a possibility.  Do you know that you can buy Term Insurance for mere pennies and provide for your family if you are not there?  The younger you are, the cheaper it is.  Usually it is a level monthly payment for 20 years.    At the end of the 20 years, you may still have kids in high school or college and still need coverage in case of emergency.  You can renegotiate your policy but for a higher monthly payment.  Do you need other insurance too?  Maybe not.  With Wisdom,  you could save or invest and have the amount of insurance you need.  How much insurance do you need for a growing family, reports say that you need about 4 times your yearly income. Shop around and set up a fence around your family.  Your family will be grateful for the peace of mind.

In addition to the items I listed a few days ago, These dryer sheet uses work also:
Remove pet hair
Place in vacuum bag when using to refresh the air
Remove stale scent in old books.  Place sheets in some pages and place book in ziptop bag for a few days..
Clean car windshield or remove bugs
Discourage deer from eating your trees.  Tie strips onto the branches.
